At CoM you will find unrivalled opportunities to succeed and realise your full potential.But enough about us, let’s talk about youOur Seniors Centre is looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual to fill the position of Assistant Cook either on a permanent part-time or casual basis (dependent on the successful applicant’s preference).This role will be challenging, rewarding and innovation will be encouraged, as the team provides a high-level food and catering service to seniors and other clients of the Centre.You will be responsible for:

• assisting the Centre Chef and other kitchen staff with the preparation, storage and distribution of food
• achieving a high standard of customer service
• ensuring corporate responsibilities are adhered to
• ensuring work health and safety requirements are observed and adhered to.

To be successful you will have:

• experience in the hospitality industry
• sound knowledge of FoodSafe Procedures
• cooking and food preparation skills
• knowledge of commercial cookery equipment (Commercial Cookery qualifications are highly desirable)
• the ability to follow directions from the Centre Chef
• the ability to work safely in a kitchen environment
• good personal hygiene
• good hand-eye coordination
• good communication and interpersonal skills
• the ability to work as part of a team
• the ability to enjoy practical, hands-on work
• a strong commitment to customer service and community engagement.

The finer detailsThis permanent part-time (15 hours per week) level two (2) position attracts a pro-rata salary range of $57,503 to $64,709 gross per annum dependent on qualifications and experience.
