Join a vibrant Indian Spice business located in the heart of inner Melbourne suburbs. A small, passionate family business dedicated to crafting the finest Asian and Indian spices for wholesale and direct sales. As they expand their team, we are seeking a creative and experienced casualAssistant Culinary Chef to join in the flavorful journey.

You will be specializing in the development of spice blend recipes for East Asian cuisines inluding Japaneese, Korean, Thai, Malaysian, Mongolian, Vietnameese and Indonesian. You will be part of an exciting opportunity to research, design and create asian spice blends from start to finish with encouragement of your creative flaire!

Part-Time Assistant Culinary Chef

Responsibilities:

• Research and develop and taste spice blends, and create delectable recipes using our authentic Indian spices for wholesale and direct sales.
• Source high-quality ingredients through meticulous shopping to maintain our premium product standards as well as our sustainability standards
• Quality Control and consistency
• Stay updated with culinary trends and conduct research to enhance our spice blends
• Provide valuable feedback on spice blends, recipes, and products to refine our offerings
• Prepare engaging presentations on recipes and products for clients and team members
• Collaborate closely with our dynamic team, sharing your culinary expertise and creativity

Requirements:

• Minimum 1+ years of experience in a similar role, or 7+ years of chef experience
• Food handling certificate and demonstrated expertise in food safety protocols
• Proven experience in culinary product development and food or product demonstration/training
• Exceptional attention to detail, creativity, and a strong work ethic
• Ability to work 5 hours a day, 3 days a week (Part-time hours)
• Passion for Indian and Asian cuisine and spices is a plus
• Must be living in Australia at time of application
• Must hold full Australian working rights at time of application
