ABOUT THE ROLE
The Assistant Director Industrial Relations is responsible for ensuring delivery of timely, proficient and effective industrial relation advice and consultancy services, and ensuring continual improvement of the Departments industrial practices that:
- Enable management to respond to workplace issues in compliance with relevant workplace laws and industrial instruments;
- Respond to industrial disputes, including matters before relevant courts and tribunals; and
- Manage the Department's industrial instruments.
The Industrial Relations team collectively:
- Advise and assist the Department's managers on a range of industrial matters;
- Negotiate new and replacement industrial agreements; and
- Develop and publish policies, procedures and guidelines that support compliance with workplace lays and industrial instruments; and
- Resolve industrial disputes, included matters before relevant course and tribunals.
The advertised role requires that the incumbent has:
- Substantial experience in leading and managing a team delivering high-level Industrial Relations advice, consultancy and advocacy services in a large and complex organisation and a practical knowledge of public sector processes and accountabilities.
- Demonstrated experience in identifying and driving opportunities for workforce reform.
You will be required to undergo employment screening, which includes a National Criminal History Check and other checks that may be relevant to the position requirements.
You may be required from time-to-time to travel within Western Australia for operational purposes. In addition, you will be required to visit correctional facilities as part of your role.
