P & J Harris & Sons are looking to fill the role of Assistant Farm Manager - Cropping.
This position will be based at Rowena NSW during the QLD wet season (November-April) and Yagoonya QLD during the QLD dry season (May-October).
Crop Management at Rowena NSW
- Management of equipment and repairs
- Management of employees in conjunction with Farm Manager
- Prepare any requested reports for Directors and Managers
- Ensure all Work, Health and Safety processes are implemented and followed
Crop Management at Yagoonya QLD
- Management of employees during all crop operations
- Management of harvesting and transportation logistics for commodities
- Ensure all Work, Health and Safety processes are implemented and followed
- Liaise with Farm Manager on general maintenance of fencing, roads and buildings including ordering of materials
- Direct all employees, train junior employees, monitor performance and oversee accurate records
Skills and Experience
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Crop Farming or Farm Management would be advantageous
- A relevant tertiary qualification in management of employees, operations or business would be advantageous
- At least two years previous Farm Management experience preferably in cotton or broadacre crops
- Demonstrated ability to manage and direct junior employees
- Demonstrated ability to manage operations in a remote and often challenging location
Remuneration
- Salary $78,000-$83,000
