Role Summary:
The Assistant Finance Business Partner is a newly created opportunity in our Business Partnering and Project Governance team based at our Perth CBD offices.
The primary purpose of this role is to be the focal point for finance related matters for our Customer and Finance & Business Services business units.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Track and report actual v budget/forecast costs, with a focus on explaining variances to stakeholders through reference to key cost drivers.
- Ensure accuracy of PowerBI reports for areas of responsibility and liaise with team PowerBI focal to ensure fit for purpose.
- Guide and support the delivery of forecasts and budgets in accordance with Synergy’s corporate planning framework.
- Build relationships with the Heads of Functions, Cost Centre Managers, and business unit focals and be their go to for finance related matters.
- Understand Synergy’s Delegated Financial Authority and communicate its requirements to the business as required.
- Prior finance experience as an Assistant Accountant, Analyst, AP/AR roles and relevant work experience.
- Intention to work towards/progress towards a professional accounting qualification.
- Knowledge and understanding of basic accounting principles and the ability to quickly understand new concepts.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Intermediate Excel skills are essential and experience using SAP, Anaplan, PowerBI would be highly regarded.
