We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor who will ensure the facilities for our guests and residents are maintained to the international 5-star standards we deliver. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role will suit someone who is pro-active, solution minded and has a hands-on approach.
The suitable person for this role will be a hands-on person and show effective communication to all levels from the General Manager to the Guests & Residents, to onsite contractors and will be flexible in your approach to working closely with all department heads. You will demonstrate previous experience in building maintenance (ideally in a hotel) and managing a team and contractors. You will be proactive, highly organised and have a high attention to detail.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain the condition of the physical assets of the facility by carrying out any upgrading and project work in liaison with management.
- Undertake day to day reactive maintenance as required by the business.
- Ensure all physical assets of the hotel maintain compliance with Australian standards.
- Maintain a good understanding of various Australian Standards in particular AS1851-2012 Maintenance of fire Protection Systems and Equipment
- Ensure the effective operation of all the mechanical and electrical systems and equipment by implementing and managing a Preventative Maintenance Program.
- Closely monitor the condition of the physical property and equipment by conducting continual inspections of the building.
- Ensure the quality of all work completed by both employees and external contracted staff adheres to the standards of good engineering practice
- Provide advice to senior management on all aspects of engineering support, environmental controls and the operational efficiency of the property.
- Demonstrate Awareness and an understanding of OH&S policies/ procedures and ensure all procedures are conducted safely and within OH&S guidelines and ensure any direct reports do the same.
- Ensure the effective financial management of the engineering department by following maintenance budgets.
