Exciting opportunity for an Assistant Manager to join our new store at Colonnades.

About Us:
The St Vincent de Paul Society (SA) Inc. is a major international charitable and voluntary organisation that has been operating in South Australia since 1884. Our principal role is to provide for or alleviate the needs of disadvantaged people in the community.
Our retail network of stores plays an important role in delivering on our Mission, as proceeds from sales go directly into funding various programs such as providing emergency relief, accommodation assistance, food support, and other services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the successful operation of the retail and community support facility.
- Perform retail functions, including merchandising, customer service, and WHS compliance.
- Offer value for money to customers while generating funds to support our mission.
- Support customer focus and positive role modelling in alignment with our values.
- Assume Managerial responsibilities in the absence of the Retail Shop Manager.
What we are looking for:
- Previous retail experience, with a preference for those who have held assistant management roles.
- Post Secondary qualifications relevant to the role, such as Certificate III in Retail (desirable).
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships.
- Commitment to workplace safety, organisational values, and code of conduct.
Special Conditions:
- Employment is contingent upon satisfactory National Police Checks and pre-employment health checks.
- Working a 6 and 4 Fortnightly Roster, including every 2nd weekend.
- The Retail Assistant Shop Manager position is physically demanding, requiring lifting, standing for long periods, and other tasks.
- The position involves assuming limited delegations of authority in the absence of the Retail Shop Manager.
- A valid driver’s Licence (Class C) is preferred.
