Reporting to the Night Manager, you will be an experienced and motivated Assistant Night Manager for our iconic 5 star Pullman Hotel.
In the role of Assistant Night Manager you will report directly to the Front Office Manager/ Night Manager. Tasks and responsibilities will consist of, but are not limited to the following:
- Hold responsibility and accountability for the efficient operation of the hotel while the Night Manager is not on duty
- Cross check and balance work completed during the day for all outlets on a shift
- Prepare reports to reflect the trading result of the property on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
- Take and prepare room service orders
- Effectively handle guest complaints
- Ensure house security to include fire prevention and protection, health, safety and staff checks, detection of breaches of security and the laws by which the company is governed.
- Maintain responsibility for the overall auditing and administration function of the Night Audit team
- Manage the Guest Relations function and confidently manage any disruptive guests and ensure their discreet removal from the property if needed
- Responsible for all other departments in the absence of their respective managers for the duration of the night time operation
- Be available at all times for guest queries
- Ensure the hotel is operating efficiently and according to hotel policy
- Participate in workplace consultation on matters pertaining to Occupational Health and Safety, as per the hotels agreed arrangements.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will be:
- Adaptable to all tasks and enjoy a variety in your workload such as reception and concierge duties, financial reporting, room service, cleaning and maintenance responsibilities
- Holding a Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate
- Holding an Australian Driver's Licence, manual driving skills preferred
- Able to work night shifts (11pm-7:30am) across a rotating roster including weekend work and public holidays
- Enthusiasm to connect with guests and to hear their story
- An energetic, team focused and CAN DO attitude
- Excellent grooming and presentation skills
- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
- High level of computer literacy - Excel and Opera experience preferred
- Excellent attention to detail
