Job description

About the role

Permanent full time opportunity to Lead Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander strategic and operational planning improvement initiatives across the service as they relate to Metro North Health strategies and state and national plans related to improving mental health and alcohol and other drugs health outcomes and social and emotional wellbeing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health Award) (2015) – Generic Level Statements (GLS) Nurse Grade 10 and the Queensland Health and Metro North Health's commitments and values, in achievement of the organisational goals and Domains of Practice.
  • Facilitate practice of self and others in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
  • Undertake, and participate in ethical decision making in the achievement of organisational goals.
  • Provide high level cultural leadership, guidance and advice on the operational performance, priorities and change management issues as they relate to improving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander mental health and alcohol and other drugs health outcomes and social and emotional wellbeing.
  • Contribute to the analysis and development of sustainable solutions to resolve large-scale complex clinical service or work-flow problems specifically related to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through recognised expertise, high level interpretation of existing health service systems, professional standards and other pertinent external considerations.
