About the Role:
Reporting to the Clinical Services Manager, the Assistant Practice Manager will be responsible for leading, managing and maintaining the efficient day-to-day operations of the Pax Centre, a leading outpatient trauma centre located in West Leederville, WA.
The Assistant Practice Manager will support the Clinical Services Manager to grow and develop the practice while ensuring safety, quality, and a supportive clinic culture.
Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Coordination of the clinic operations
- Effective management and supervision of administration staff
- Assisting clients, clinicians and administrative staff with complex problem solving
- Assisting human resource functions including recruitment, inductions and performance management
- Promoting and embedding a high level standard of customer service delivery
- Reception and general administration duties
- Coordinating staff rosters and payroll
- Managing workers’ compensation funding and communicating with Medicare and other funders
- Embodying and promoting a clinic culture of safety, quality and support
- Other duties as required
As an experienced administrator, the Assistant Practice Manager will also possess:
- The ability to engage, motivate, empower and coach staff to achieve desired business outcomes
- High level of computer skills
- A strong commitment to customer service
Selection Criteria:
1. Essential:
- Professional, friendly and highly flexible.
- Previous experience supervising staff, preferably in a health care setting
- Demonstrate and encourage leadership and teamwork.
- Ability to build appropriate relationships with patients, admin staff, and clinicians.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly in complex and sometimes stressful situations.
- Experience working in mental healthcare in Western Australia.
2. Desirable:
- Experience in financial management, accounting systems, and reporting processes.
- Understanding of the Medicare Benefits Schedule and the Australian workers' compensation system.
- Crisis management skills and experience.
Hours of Work:
- Full-time position, 38 hours per week, with the flexibility to work additional hours as necessary.
