The Assistant Professor role is expected to contribute to the leadership and management of evidence-synthesis research projects, both grant and contract based, at the Institute for evidence based healthcare. They will assist with the development of such grant and contract proposals and be expected to lead some, but not all. They will manage projects teams from across the Institute streams brought together for specific Evidence Synthesis projects, including Research assistants, statistician, epidemiologists, and clinicians. They will also provide support for mentoring and training of junior staff and higher degree students.
The Assistant Professor will work within the Bond University which is a successful, multidisciplinary team established in June 2010 by Professor Paul Glasziou. The Institute delivers world-class research, engagement, and training that serves as a national and international resource for scholars, clinicians, system leaders, patients, and families in the implementation of evidence-based clinical care. collaborative research with a focus on translation of evidence into practice and policy.
About the person
The Assistant Professor position is a leadership role in evidence-synthesis research projects, both grant and contracts based within IEBH. The successful candidate will make a significant contribution to the research and contract work. The successful incumbent will demonstrate academic leadership, including leading research projects, mentoring and developing junior staff, and drive the ongoing external contracts. Within this over-arching responsibility, it is expected that the individual will work with the Director of IEBH and heads of relevant research centres and programs to: * Manage evidence, synthesis projects, both grant and contract based aligned with the Institute's four main research themes (see PD for full list);
  • Assist with training in Evidence Synthesis methods, for example via workshops, or helping with relevant, Masters subjects;
  • Provide support and supervision, co-supervision of higher degree, research students and others as needed.
Salary details
Assistant Professor A remuneration commences at $154,787.26 per annum plus 11% superannuation.
Salary packaging options are available for eligible employees.
