About the role
No 10 Restaurant + Bar is currently seeking FULL TIME ASSISTANT RESTAURANT MANAGER to join our team.

As an Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for all restaurant activities to run efficiently and professionally to ensure profitability and enjoyable dining experience. Uphold all policies, procedures, and the No. 10 Service Guidelines. Your objective is to assist the Restaurant Manager in the operation of the outlet and achieve financial goals, while maintaining a clean and safe workplace. In this role you will coordinate the daily operations across our breakfast, lunch and dinner service periods. You'll play a key role to ensure efficient, friendly and professional service is provided to all guests. You will supervise, direct and support the Food & Beverage teams with their daily activities, knowledge, development and engagement across the various service periods.
Please note these roles will be based across a rotating roster including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Train and instruct employees to ensure No. 10 Service Guidelines are followed.
- Audit inventory levels to ensure product availability and order products as necessary.
- Manage workload and ensure effective working of restaurant activities and maintain excellent standards to meet operational expectations.
- Coordinate with Restaurant Manager and Director of Food & Beverage for everyday operation and maintain financial and administrative records.
- Monitor and manage guest complaints, ensure satisfaction, and administer efficient follow up to receive feedback.
- Maintain and ensure compliance to establish food quality and standards.
- Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas.
- Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents. Complete accident reports promptly in the event that a guest or employee is injured.
- Manage shifts which include daily decision making, scheduling, planning while upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness.
- Opening and closing the restaurant.
- Appointing, inducting, and mentoring new staff members.
- Scheduling shifts and assigning tables to waitstaff.
- Resolving customers' questions and grievances in a professional manner.
- Conducting payroll activities in an accurate, timely manner.
- Ensuring that the restaurant adheres to pertinent health and safety regulations.
- Purchasing new ingredients, kitchen utensils, and equipment as stock is damaged or depleted.
- Sourcing better deals on all resources and equipment that warrant replacing or replenishing.
- Recording all income and expenses and ensuring that cash registers are balanced.
Skills Required:
- Dynamic, vibrant, confident and professional personality.
- The flexibility to work on a rotating roster including days, evenings, weekdays, weekends and public holidays.
- You must also meet the legal requirements to work in this country.
- At least 1 – 2 years’ experience within a hotel F&B or restaurant environment.
- Previous Supervisory or Team Leader experience in an established restaurant.
- Highly adaptable and able to perform during high-pressure service periods.
- Superior communication.
- Detail orientated.
- Exemplary leadership with focus on staff development.
- High standard of personal presentation.
- A current ACT Responsible Service of Alcohol qualification.
