Assistant Under Treasurer

As the Assistant Under Treasurer (AUT), Government Owned Corporations Performance and Governance (GPG) you will provide strategic oversight, direction and advice in relation to the operation, supervision and performance of GOCs and government businesses to ensure the achievement of government priorities and objectives.

In this role, you will:
- Provide strategic advice and advocacy to Treasury and Shareholding Ministers on complex GOC-related issues including energy and water reform.
- Build strong stakeholder commitment to the commercial and economic growth of the GOC sector in Queensland on a sustainable basis to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of a diverse range of services throughout Queensland.
- Provide strategic leadership and management to significant complex projects on behalf of Government.
- Provide strong leadership that continues to build, develop, and sustain a strong and capable team.
- Effectively engage with stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach to corporate governance, policy development and performance monitoring of GOCs.
- Represent Treasury in complex and sensitive negotiations, consultations and forums.

What experience you will bring:
• a record of success as a leader in a large and complex organisation with outstanding leadership ability
• a record of achievement in economics and/or fiscal management, particularly in the development and implementation of complex economic, commercial and policy frameworks
• extensive expertise and experience in the successful delivery of complex projects with a record of innovation to ensure value for money, contract and risk management
• extensive experience in energy and water public policy development is desirable
• strong background in navigating and managing highly complex stakeholder engagement and relationships, strategy and policy implementation and client service delivery
• high level political acumen and an ability to build strong, strategic relationships with senior members of government

Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, however, relevant qualifications are highly regarded.
