As a Restaurant/Cafe Assistant Venue Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our venue, with a specific focus on our coffee and beverage offerings. Working closely with the Venue Manager and Head Barista, you will oversee daily operations, maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation, and contribute to creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Reporting and Culture Enhancement:

  • Provide daily reports on turnover and cultural insights, highlighting key trends and customer feedback related to our coffee and beverage offerings.
  • Collaborate with the team to cultivate a positive and engaging atmosphere that reflects our commitment to great food, service, and community.

Operational Oversight:

  • Oversee daily operations of the kitchen, coffee bar, and beverage service, ensuring seamless preparation and service of coffee-based beverages and menu items.
  • Work closely with the Venue Manager and Head Barista to manage stocktake and ordering, ensuring the availability of high-quality ingredients and beverages, including specialty beans, syrups, and dairy alternatives.

Brand Standards and Presentation:

  • Collaborate with the Venue Manager to maintain an aesthetically pleasing coffee bar setup, adhering to brand standards and ensuring cleanliness and organization.
  • Ensure that the ambiance and atmosphere of the venue align with our customer experience, including selecting appropriate music and maintaining comfortable conditions for enjoying coffee.

Sustainability and Cleanliness:

  • Uphold cleanliness and maintenance standards for the coffee and bar area, including regular equipment cleaning and organizing coffee and bartending accessories.
  • Implement eco-friendly practices, such as proper disposal of used coffee grounds and minimizing waste wherever possible.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a cafe, bar, or restaurant setting.
  • Strong knowledge and passion for coffee, cocktail, and beverage preparation, or an eagerness to learn.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team.
  • Commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
  • Attention to detail and a dedication to upholding high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
