The positions will contribute to the ongoing development and delivery of the Master of Occupational Therapy program, supervise the clinical and/or industry research activities of Occupational Therapy students, and teach across the breadth of Occupational Therapy with emphasis dependent on area of specialty. They offer opportunities for the incumbent to develop research interests aligned with those within the Occupational Therapy team and broader Faculty.
The Associate Professor role is additionally expected to provide significant leadership in research and scholarship, teaching, academic administration, and community engagement across the discipline, Faculty and, more broadly, the University. The role will emphasize the development of research within the discipline and the coordination of research projects within the Professional Doctorate program.
About the person
The successful candidates will be registered or eligible for registration as an Occupational Therapist in Australia. The candidates will also typically hold a Doctoral qualification, although, at the Assistant Professor level, they may hold a Master's qualification with evidence of substantial scholarship, professional practice, and emerging research experience.
They will have a track record of effective teaching, learning, scholarship or research, and academic administration within the higher education sector commensurate with the level of position to which they apply.
Candidates for the Associate Professor position will be expected to have well-developed leadership, management, and team-building skills.
Registration as an Occupational Therapist (or eligibility) in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is a requirement for these roles.
Salary details
The salaries for these positions are outlined below and will be negotiated commensurate with qualifications, skills, and experience. Salary packaging options are available for eligible employees.
Bond University Academic Australian Public Sector Descriptor Salary (base) Full-time Equivalent Plus, superannuation per annum
Associate Professor A Level D $177,979.01 11%
Associate Professor B Level D $162,466.69 11%
Assistant Professor A Senior Lecturer, Level C $154,787.26 11%
Salary rates are exclusive of annual leave loading.
These positions are based at , located in the Robina Health precinct. The complex has world-class teaching facilities. These include a teaching kitchen, gait lab, simulated hospital ward, activities of daily living lab and work play lab, the latest technology, and interprofessional learning spaces. Some travel between Bond University locations is required.
