About the opportunity
The Associate Director Clinical Governance (ADCG) provides expert knowledge of Clinical Governance, safety and quality service improvement and performance. As the ADCG within the Clinical Governance Support Office (CGSO), this position will contribute to achieving overall strategic and operational objectives of the University and . provide advice and leadership in areas of Clinical Governance, patient safety, risk and incident management and consumer engagement.
Reporting to the Director of Clinical Governance, the role involves promoting and overseeing Clinical Governance at the University and supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality clinical activities, across the University and providing advice on matters related to Multidisciplinary Initiatives (MDI’s) and external clinics.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
  • continue the implementation and compliance with s the Clinical Governance Framework as a Clinical Governance and safety expert to embed a safety and quality culture and quality processes into Internal clinics operating under the University Health Clinics and Clinical Services policy
  • actively contributes to the development and implementation of sound governance policies and protocols, ensuring that University policies and procedures, as well as legislative requirements, are followed and adopted appropriately for the work area and internal clinics
  • works collaboratively with internal clinics, multi-disciplinary initiatives (MDIs), the University and Faculty Executives to strengthen integration of governance systems to maintain and improve safety and quality of person-centered care and research in university clinics
  • uses the principles of quality improvement including monitoring and reporting to implement change and achieve good clinical practice consistently through the University health clinics
  • engages with all stakeholders to provide ongoing support for good clinical practice and quality outcomes
  • builds and maintains effective working relationships and a strong rapport with key external stakeholders and University services
  • ensures a safe working environment for staff, visitors, students, and actors through the monitoring and evaluation of risks recommending opportunities for improvement.
About you
  • demonstrated ability to provide effective operational leadership, education and project management in patient safety, quality and clinical risk management systems and provide analytical skills in relation to the monitoring and evaluation of such activities.
  • demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as a part of a multidisciplinary team managing competing priorities in a timely and efficient manner to ensure CGSO objectives are achieved
  • extensive practical knowledge of clinical systems and health services, including demonstrated knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practice of Clinical Governance, patient safety, clinical risk, quality improvement, improvement science and complaints management.
  • knowledge of the related standards and requirements for effective Clinical Governance (i.e., regulations, research governance, ethics, quality, and safety) within a Clinical Governance Framework including an extensive experience in incident management, review, and the principles of quality improvement
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated experience in influencing, engaging, and managing a variety of internal and external stakeholders demonstrating excellent consultation, liaison, and negotiation skills to produce positive outcomes.
