We are reducing the overall use of academic casual employment and providing meaningful pathways for casual academic staff to ongoing academic employment through our casual consolidation project.
To be eligible, you must (a) Have casual experience totaling at least two (2) teaching sessions at La Trobe University in the previous two (2) years; (b) Have not held a continuing position in a university in the previous three (3) years.

About the position
Play a pivotal role in nurturing the intellectual curiosity of our students. This position offers a unique platform to engage in cutting-edge research in developmental psychology, collaborate with a diverse team of experts, and empower students to explore the diverse areas of psychological science.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Undertake high quality and/or high impact research in collaboration with Associate Professor Kristelle Hudry and the Childhood Autism Phenotype Team (CAPTeam).
  • Work with subject coordinators in the Department of Psychology Counselling and Therapy to develop a high-quality learning experience that engages students through the delivery of tutorials, practical classes and workshops.
  • Develop subject material with appropriate guidance from subject or course coordinators.
  • Develop a scholarly approach to learning and teaching by contributing to La Trobe's SOLT including sharing of good practice.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position, you will have:
  • Demonstrated ability to be effective in teaching and curriculum development in face-to-face, blended and/or online modes.
  • Technical expertise in the following methodological approaches: Quantitative analysis of large and/or longitudinal datasets. Experience of standardised assessment of infants/young children, including developmental and cognitive, adaptive, and behavioural autism assessments
  • Ability to engage with the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.
