Associate ProducerPublic Programs, ScienceworksAustralia's largest public museum organisation is seeking a Associate ProducerPublic Programs at Museums Victoria.ABOUT MUSEUMS VICTORIA:Museums Victoria cares for the State scientific and cultural collections, providing visitor access, activities and events at five distinct venues: Melbourne Museum, Immigration Museum, Scienceworks, IMAX Cinema and world heritage listed Royal Exhibition Building.To learn more about Museums Victoria, please visitABOUT THE POSITION:The primary responsibility of the Associate ProducerPublic Programs is to support the successful development, co-ordination and delivery of a range of Public Programs and events that engage and build our diverse Museums Victoria audiences, with a core focus on Scienceworks audiences.Some of the key duties include:
- Work collaboratively with Producer, Public Programs to enable seamless daily program delivery and operations, fostering team cohesion, staff development, and a high-performance workplace culture;
- Coordinate with MV staff, program partners, community groups and other stakeholders to develop and deliver programs that meaningfully engage diverse audiences in Museums Victoria' experiences, collections and research; provide advice on learning and public engagement strategies as required;
- Present a broad range of programs, activities and presentations to successfully engage diverse public and education audiences;
- Provide day-to-day support and supervision of Learning Facilitators, including monitoring skills and knowledge needs for program delivery and development, while maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion when handling sensitive information;
- Train Learning Facilitators and Volunteers in the delivery and methodologies of presenting programs to diverse audiences;
- Program co-ordination: Demonstrated ability to co-ordinate programs and projects, ensuring that staffing, resources, logistics and budgets are well co-ordinated, and both audience and business objectives are achieved within agreed timeframes.
- Team co-ordination: Demonstrated ability to support and supervise a public-facing delivery team, including rostering experience, ability to coach and staff and volunteers and ability to effectively respond to issues and opportunities that arise in the day-to-day delivery of programs and events.
- Program development and delivery: Experience in research, development and delivery of innovative Public Programs and events for varied audiences in the informal education sector.
- Science public engagement: Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of learning theories and public engagement practices for diverse audiences, as well as sound knowledge of science topics and contemporary issues, in a science centre/ museum context.
