About Us
Our School of Nursing was established in 2004 at our regional Mandurah campus and due to enrolment growth expanded to our Perth Campus in 2016.
We have an excellent track record in delivering quality teaching and Nursing research which is evidenced by 10 of our 22 academics having each won either, or in combination, national, state, university and industry teaching, research and nursing excellence awards over the last 4 years. We have also been rated well above the nation average in the Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) Surveys for teaching practices, resources, skills development and overall satisfaction and have received 5 stars for Student Support in the Good Universities Guide.
Our aim is to provide high quality scholarship and learning experiences for our students through our strong clinical partnerships across a wide range of areas throughout the state, along with national and international research collaborations.
The Role
We are currently seeking applications from experienced registered nurses with a doctorate qualification and current AHPRA registration to join our nursing team as an Associate Professor or a Professor of Nursing.
Associate Professor Nursing
Our ideal candidate will conduct impactful research that resonates on both national and international levels and demonstrate a strong track record of academic excellence. This role involves supervising postgraduate students, leading various University administrative functions, and fostering strong connections with industry groups and external stakeholders to advance the interests of the School and University. Additionally, the Associate Professor plays a crucial role in teaching and significantly contribute to the nursing discipline and profession.
Professor of Nursing
This prestigious position requires an international reputation for academic excellence and a strong track record in research. As a leader in the discipline, the Professor of Nursing will provide strategic leadership at both the College and University levels, promoting excellence in teaching, research, and professional activities. The role involves significant mentoring responsibilities, guiding and developing the next generation of academic staff. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a sustained commitment to and achievement in their scholarly field.

What you'll bring to this role
- Evidence of registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) With AHPRA.
- A PhD in an area relevant to appointment, plus extensive relevant experience.
- A track record of success in producing high quality independent research outputs, including high impact publications with international influence.
- A record of success in the application of curriculum design and pedagogy, including substantial experience with leading and designing programs of study.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, past success in working effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary and collegial team and demonstrated success as a leader in teaching and learning, research and administrative activities at the School level or at senior levels of an organisation.
