Associate Teaching Fellow Pre Degree Programs

  • Teaching opportunity to help diverse and non-traditional learners succeed in the Pre-degree Programs

  • Full-time, ongoing role based in Burnie and Launceston
About the opportunity
The Teaching Fellow position is for the Pre-degree Programs suite of courses (including the Diploma of University Studies and University Preparation Program) located in part of the .
As an Associate Teaching Fellow, you will join a team of expert educators who use evidence-based methods to create and deliver a top-notch curriculum that enhances student learning outcomes. You will also contribute to the design, development, and assessment of the curriculum, as well as coordinate units and tutors if required.
Our ideal candidate needs to be an experienced educator in academic writing, study strategies, and student wellbeing, experienced in online delivery, who can teach into the University Preparation Program and the Diploma of University Studies. You will have experience teaching diverse and non-traditional learners.
What you'll do:
  • Collaborate with educational design and development specialists ensuring University College's offerings meet and/or exceeded:
  • Contribution to the design and development of student assessments, including the setting, production, and marking of assessment tasks.
  • Deliver specified components of courses including:
  • Conducting classes, tutorials, workshops, and consultations.
  • Evaluation of student work.
  • Performance of administrative duties associated with teaching, including keeping of records.
  • Assist in matters of student academic welfare.
  • Commitment to improving teaching and learning, with a priority on development of own teaching skills.
  • Contribute to maintaining productive links with the wider community.
What we're looking for:
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant area or relevant experience.
  • Experience in learning and teaching that demonstrates a high quality and contemporary curricula.
  • Experience in catering for diverse and non-traditional learners with a variety of delivery approaches.
  • Proven capacity to work in a complex and changing work environment.
  • History of establishing and sustaining strong and productive connections within and across the field and the profession.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills and excellent time and workload management skills.
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level A and will have a total remuneration package of up to $118,769 comprising base salary within the range of $78,499 to $101,512 plus 17% superannuation.
