About the role 

The Authorised Officer works with the Customer Team to ensure the safety and efficiency of the passengers on the network.

You’ll use your exceptional communication and conflict resolution skills to create a safe and smooth operating environment. 

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Be responsible for day-to-day reporting of offences under the Transport Act with a focus on anti-social behaviour.
  • Respond to and assist during emergencies and public transport disruption incidents.
  • Deter public order (crime and vandalism) and fare evasion offences.
  • Be an integral part in providing customers a high degree of service to ensure an informative, trouble-free, and safe journey.

About you

You take pride in the impact of your work, are a resilient individual with strong abilities in emergency management and conflict resolution. You have a strong customer service background and enjoy working with the public.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in addition to problem solving abilities

Remuneration for this position will be in line with the V/Line Rail Operations and Administrative Employees Agreement 2019 / Asset Management Enterprise Agreement 2019).
