Mobicon Systems designs and builds a unique range of mini straddle-carriers for handling shipping containers.
We also have a booming refurbishment business where we take second hand machines and give them a new life.
The work environment
We design and make some awesome container handlers that create demand from all over the world. We pride ourselves on our build quality and after sales service. The units are fitted with a 24V System.
Our workshop is bright and light, and we maintain a great company culture where our employees are supported and their achievements celebrated.
You will get the chance to work on some truly unique projects and your work will create a noticeable impact on our machines and within our industry as a whole. As a bonus, all the electrics on our machines are easily accessible; no crawling under vehicles and bending into engine bays!

The role is permanent full time, and workshop hours are 6:30 - 3:45 Monday to Thursday, and 6:30 - 12:40 every second Friday (with every other Friday an RDO).
The role
- Manufacture of machine control boards, dash panels and wiring harnesses
- Installation of custom wiring harnesses, sensors and lighting components
- Testing and commissioning of new machine builds
- Perform Diagnostics, maintenance and repair on rental machine fleet
- Following work instructions and engineering drawings / schematics
- Liaising with suppliers of electrical equipment and quality checking of incoming components and assemblies.
- Fit out of air conditioning systems on our machines.
- Work with our engineering team providing advice on the electrical and control aspects of R&D projects.
Required Attributes
- Trade qualified Auto Electrician (Trade Certificate Level III in Automotive Electrical Technology (AUR30312) or Equivalent)
- Demonstrable experience working to and understanding drawings (both electrical line drawings and harness manufacturing drawings).
- Quality focus with a keen eye for detail.
- Good communication skills.
- Commitment to a positive safety culture.
Desired Attributes (On the job training can be provided if you do not have these attributes)
- Air-Conditioning License.
- Forklift license
- Experience in the creation and maintenance of drawings in AutoCAD.
- Experience working with PLC controlled hydraulic systems, using products from IFM and Bosch Rexroth.
- Experience working with systems utilising J1939 CAN networks.
- Experience in electrical circuit design
