The Role
This is an opportunity to join a great hard-working team who also like to have fun in a leadership position. It's a highly productive and busy work environment with a supportive owner/manager and a loyal customer base. The successful candidate must be a fully qualified mechanic. We are looking for someone who enjoys interacting with clients; can work well with a team, is hands-on, and has a passion for the industry with operational experience.
The role will have you performing a variety of tasks, duties, and responsibilities include:
- Sales and customer service; front office and phone
- Customer liaison, bookings; job costings, and invoicing
- Spare parts management
- Delegation of duties to other employees and staff supervision
- Monitoring of employee performance
- Automotive vehicle diagnosis, service, and repairs as required
- Management of budgets and KPIs
- Processing of documents into business software
- Cash balancing and security
- Opening, closing, and security of business premises, as required
The successful applicant will be required to jump on the tools to assist technicians in carrying out servicing and safety inspections, as needed.
Job requirements
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
- Be accountable for the overall customer and team member experience
- Experience in running the day-to-day operations of a workshop
- Trade-qualified motor mechanic with a minimum of 3 years post-apprenticeship experience
- Roadworthy certification will be highly regarded
- Knowledge across a wide product range of vehicles, parts, and tyres.
- Ability to manage and prioritise to meet deadlines in a busy workshop
- Computer skills - Automotive Workshop software; parts management and email
- Must have experience in managing an efficient team and delivering great sales results.
- Dedicated to maintaining safe work practices and environment
- A current open driver's license
- Own tools
- Availability to work every second Saturday morning (1/2 day)
- Be well-presented, have a can-do attitude, and be reliable.
