We are recognised for our culture, innovation and industry-leading development of infrastructure, mining assets and green energy initiatives.Our OpportunityLocation: Perth - Fortescue's Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.Roster: Monday to FridayThe Aviation Specialist is an integral role within the Property & Travel team. This role will manage the aviation operator safety standards and be the subject matter expert in this field, collaborating with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.Key Responsibilities
  • Review, update and maintain the Aviation Standard & supporting procedures/documents
  • Main point of contact and serve as the subject matter expert in aviation related air operations & safety standards
  • Develop aviation management plans & Rotary/Fixed wing trip plans
  • BARS program interface and company representative
  • Coordinate aviation stakeholder working groups.
  • Coordinate operational and safety audits of service providers
  • Maintain the master risk register for the Travel team. Coordinate and actively participate in risk assessments
  • Share knowledge and best practices within the team
  • Provide advice based on regulatory requirements
  • Maintain professional contact with clients and ensure adherence to aviation compliance standards
  • Follow-up and close out issues raised in the course of their duties
  • Provide training to stakeholders if and when required
Qualifications and Experience
  • Preferably hold or held a commercial pilots licence
  • Strong understanding of international aviation regulations & frameworks
  • Demonstrated track record of technical expertise within Aviation safety, preferably with an aviation provider or auditing firm
  • Familiarity with the resource sector/ off shore industry aviation safety standards
  • Highly developed skills of coordination, scheduling, record management, organisational planning, problem-solving and the ability to work autonomously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical findings to non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and liaise with diverse stakeholders to meet customer needs and satisfaction
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
