Leidos Airborne Solutions Australia provides aerial surveillance services under contract to the Australian Border Force as the largest civil maritime surveillance operation of its kind in the world, and a search-and rescue capability across nearly 10 percent of the earth's surface under Australian Maritime Safety Authority.

Job Description

Leidos Australia currently has an opportunity for an Aviation Technical Administrator to join the Leidos Australia team. The role has a dual function with responsibility for processing of technical data into our document management system and managing a broad array of administrative tasks for the wider team.

This will be an agile role that will evolve to match business needs, but examples of your responsibilities could include the following:

  • Provide administrative support to the technical department management
  • Maintain staff training and qualification records for new and existing staff
  • Coordinate the receipt and distribution of daily work requests to the appropriate team members
  • Update and maintain Technical Document Database
  • Act as a liaison for IT issues affecting the team
  • Raise Purchase Orders for the department
  • Manage travel for the department
  • Produce and distribute reports on behalf of the management team

Qualifications

We’re looking for a highly efficient, strong communicator, who’s capable of working autonomously and isn’t afraid of a challenge.

Working in a fast paced and high-volume role, we need someone who will thrive in this environment, who can keep on top of current directions and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

What skills and experience do we need?

  • Aviation industry experience or relevant tertiary education (desirable)
  • Relevant experience within an administration role
  • Intermediate to advanced skills within the MS Suite of systems

Essential skills you should have:

  • Highly organised and efficient
  • Compliance focussed – we work in a highly regulated industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – this role will involve liaising with both internal and external stakeholders, updating spreadsheets and preparing reports
  • Motivation to learn and grow your knowledge of the aviation industry
