Thsi is your opporurtinity to leave your mark on defining and executing the data strategy of a resonably large Australian organisation. As the Data Architect you will be responsible for working with senior executives within the business and overseeing the configuration, development and delivery of a data catalogue platform. Responsible for understanding data and creating pipelines from a myriad of applications into the warehouse, creating data maps and business logic to presentation of data through a PowerBI layer for the key execs and business functions are all key parts of the role.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Reviewing and remediating current setup to reflect appropriate practice.
- Maintaining high quality functional and technical specifications and documentation reflecting what is to be/has been built.
- Modelling data and undertaking functional requirements mapping.
- Creating data integration processes optimized for performance and maintaining Data Architecture standards across all of the business's databases.
- Creating and maintaining optimal data pipeline architecture.
- Owning solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
Key Skills & Experience Required
- Strong Data Architect experience in a large environment
- Knowledge and experience of data modelling and IT systems implementation
- Deep understanding of various Azure Data Platform components, specifically Azure SQL Databases
- Azure Data Lake and Azure Data Factory
- Strong understanding of the principles of information technology including SQL Databases, Software Development Life Cycle, Agile processes, PowerBI reporting
- A strong understanding of best practice design and definition of data integration processes
- Excellent communication skills
