We are seeking suitably qualified Azure Architect stakeholders, to design and implement a proof of concept project using an Azure-based storage solution.
The intention is to design and implement a solution to replace aging on-premises physical servers and network-attached storage (NAS) devices. Background
The design and implementation of the Azure-based storage solution is a proof of concept project and utilises the Northern Territory Government’s existing Enterprise Agreement with Microsoft. A ‘local’ Windows storage server will be deployed through Data Centre Services to simulate the expected on-site ‘cache’ devices. Users will connect to and consume data from this cache device with the complete dataset being housed in Azure Storage. Only readily used data will be stored on the cache and Azure File Sync will be used to manage file syncing to Azure Storage. The first stage of the proof of concept will use data from the Northern Territory Geological Survey.
Deliverables
- Provide a solution design document based on the “Azure Architecture Design Guide”
- Provide a solution to allow to undertake testing as part of the proof-of-concept.
- Provide system administration support to the solution during the proof-of-concept period.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with stakeholders, prepare and submit the Design Document based on the “Azure Architecture Design Guide” to the Architecture and Cyber Security Team for review.
- Respond to queries, from Architecture and Cyber Security in finalisation of the Design Document.
- Implementation of proof of concept solution, including configuring Azure File Sync.
- Provide system administration support while conducting testing.
- Experience managing Windows-based file servers and shares within the environment.
- Experience working with account permissions and security groups, specifically Active Directory and Azure Active Directory.
- Experience designing and implementing Azure services within the Azure Tenant.
