Backend Software Engineer

Shotstack is building the next generation media developer platform. Last year our customers created more than a million videos, and we grew 6 times larger in the process. Spotify, IKEA, Twitter and McDonalds have used our platform to build their video applications.

Responsibilities

We are looking for someone with 3+ years commercial and team experience. Your responsibilities will include:

• Building backend software projects and utilities.
• Writing clean, maintainable code and following software engineering best practices.
• Support, monitor and maintain new and existing products and services.
• Build, manage and monitor backend infrastructure using AWS serverless services.

Our complete stack

You will be hands on with many parts of our stack. Experience and willingness to learn any of the following is a bonus:

• AWS Serverless – Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SQS, etc...
• Microservice architecture and distributed systems
• Video processing, transcoding and media streaming
• Testing methodologies including unit testing
• Experience with Agile practices and frameworks

Requirements

• 3+ years Node/JavaScript experience
• 1+ years of experience working with AWS serverless services and Infrastructure as Code
• Experience designing and optimising SQL and NoSQL databases
• Automated testing, deployments and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience working as part of a software engineering team
• Work on AEST timezone
• Be eligible to work in Australia
