Position Description: Front of House
Report to: Restaurant Manager
Position Objective: The Front of House staff are the face of the business. They are responsible for creating the customer experience and ensuring the Sequence of Service is executed professionally and accurately. They must be engaged with all areas of the business, including menu knowledge, dietary knowledge, events and promotions, and the overall running of the restaurant. The more advanced staff will be competent on the coffee machine and mixing cocktails and assist the Supervisors in the training and supervision of junior staff.
Cafe Operations
- Competently carry 3 plates
- Clear crockery and glassware as required
- Excellent knowledge and execution of the sequence of service
- Deliver food and drink to the table promptly and accurately
- Clear and clean tables as required
- Greet all customers with fast, friendly, personalised service and develop a genuine rapport with customers
- Sound knowledge of POS systems and cash handling
- Answer telephone in a courteous and friendly manner
- Maintain efficient, friendly service
- Create a personalised customer experience every time
- Use suggestions and recommendations confidently
- Assist with the supervision and training of junior staff
- Sound knowledge of coffee process, and ability jump on machine as required
- Run the wait list to ensure flow and maintain customer satisfaction
- Pack down, clean, and restock cafe for the following day
- Maintain clean, productive dishwash section
- Use undercounter dishwasher in a safe manner
General
- Work well within the team environment as a contributing member
- Work diligently to achieve outstanding service quality
- Develop & maintain effective relationships with the management team & employees at all levels across the business.
- Actively participate in team meetings
- Ensure conformance to all relevant company policies & procedures and relevant Acts & Legislation
- Ensure adherence & obligation for a safe workplace in accordance with the Occupational Health &
Safety Act 2002
- Undertake other duties as requested by senior staff

Knowledge and certification
- RMLV highly desirable. RSA Mandatory
- Strong understanding of wines, beers, mixed drinks and cocktail knowledge
- Excellent level of dietary and menu alteration knowledge
- Excellent understanding of menu terminology
- Excellent knowledge of menu items, daily specials and limited items
- Safe food handling skills

Salary: $27.15 – $32.58 per hour
