You must be PGY 3 to commence in this position.

Position overview
Previously this position was based in the Chronic Disease Management Unit (CDMU). The CDMU has been restructured and now consists of the Bariatric Medicine Service within the Division of Medicine. It is located at the Belconnen Community Health Centre.
Duties
Under limited direction of the Clinical Director you will:
1. With onsite supervision of a Consultant medical practitioner, provide competent and efficient clinical care of patients of Canberra Health Services at the Department of Bariatric Medicine. The role includes direct clinical contact with patients at the Department of Bariatric Medicine, and being part of a multi-disciplinary team providing input into the management of patients receiving care coordination and obesity disease management. It also involves preparing and presenting patient case studies for consideration of publicly funded bariatric surgery to the Bariatric Surgery Advisory Committee.
2. Maintain a cooperative relationship with all relevant sections of Canberra Health Services and work collaboratively, flexibly, and efficiently and within an inter-professional clinical team.
3. Participation in the Departmental teaching program and activities, and timely completion of all training and administrative requirements.
4. Comply with the policies and requirements of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and CHS.
5. Participate in research and quality improvement activities of the Department. Contribute to clinical audit and participate in changes that improve quality and safety of patient care.
6. Maintain adequate and legible medical records and ensure that the clinical team completes all correspondence in a timely manner.
7. Undertaking other duties as directed, within the approved scope of clinical practice ensuring the delivery of high quality person and family centred, safe and high quality patient care.

Position Requirements/Qualifications:
- An Australian MBBS medical degree, or equivalent
- Be registered, or be eligible for, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Be registered under the Working for Vulnerable People Act.
- Achieve and maintain currency in resuscitation and life support credentials.
· Demonstrate commitment to training and continuing professional development including participation in relevant teaching programs, activities, and feedback opportunities,
- The successful applicant will need to be available for occasional weekend and after-hours work.
- CHS is leading the drive to digitally transform health service delivery in Australia through the implementation of a territory wide Digital Health Record. Computer literacy skills are required which are relevant to this role as you will be responsible for completing required documentation and becoming a proficient user of the Digital Health Record and/or other Information Technology systems; once proficient, you will need to remain current with changes, updates and contingencies.

What you require
These are the key selection criteria for how you will be assessed in conjunction with your resumé and experience:
- Demonstrated sound clinical, supervisory, ethical and record keeping skills of clinical competence at a level commensurate with a postgraduate year three or above.
- Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development including advanced training in a medical specialty relevant to chronic disease management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Evidence of the ability and commitment to working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical team.
- Demonstrates understanding of, and adherence to, safety and quality standards, work, health and safety (WH&S) and the positive patient experience. Displays behaviour consistent with CHS’s values of reliable, progressive, respectful and kind.
