Your other super powers include rostering the best team, recognising the strengths of your co-workers, and developing their potential. Gumption Coffee is a high-volume specialty coffee destination in the Sydney CBD. We pride ourselves on constantly striving to provide better coffee, better service, and overall a better coffee experience for customers. Our staff are proud of their work, obsessed about quality and live to make a positive impact on customers with coffee.

We are looking for a highly organised and motivated professional who will:

• Do shifts on bar and be part of our highly skilled barista team
• Manage the day-to-day operation of a high-volume café
• Monitor inventory and order supplies
• Train new hires and monitor their development
• Do staff rosters and ensure the right mix of talents on shifts
• Help ensure a sustainable labour ratio   
• Enforce the quality standards of products and service
• Maintain and develop better operational procedures 
• Update all staff on new coffee and products
• Achieve store targets
• Report regularly to head office

Essential skills of the Barista/Café Manager:

• Communication skills
• Able to motivate others
• Deep understanding of espresso extraction
• Excellent skills in milk texturing and latte art
• Highly organised
• Team player/Team maker
• Self-motivated
• Administrative skills – Word, Excel, Deputy

Must be legally able to work full time in Australia.

This is a full-time position that requires some weekend work.

Remuneration depends on skills and experienced presented, with periodical reviews based on meeting performance targets.
