As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will develop Behaviour Support plans, complete functional behaviour assessments, develop implementation and training, and provide individual support for people. You will be fully supported with access to senior clinical leadership, individual and group supervision and support, whilst also connecting with broader communities of practice and professional development opportunities.
We welcome practitioners self-assessed as Core, Proficient or Advanced/Specialist. If you are not currently a Registered Behaviour Support Practitioner – we can support you with your application to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission as part of your induction.
This position is based at our head office in the Illawarra and will require travel to our other areas of operation. This is a full-time position, offering a competitive remuneration package of $103,000 - $121,000 (to be negotiated based on experience & qualifications) inclusive of travel and phone allowances & superannuation.
What You Will Bring To The Role:
We are seeking a true person-centred individual, who brings a high level of professionalism and maturity to their work. In addition, you will have:
- Formal qualification; eg: Social Work, Counselling, Psychology or Allied Health disciplines, and/or experience in delivering Positive Behaviour Support
- Demonstrated knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support and Restrictive Practices
- Demonstrated experience in assessing and planning intervention for people who exhibit a range of behaviours of concern; especially high-risk behaviours
- An understanding of relevant policy and legislation relating to Behaviour Support and Restrictive Practices at a National and State/Territory level, including the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission Capability Framework
- Experience delivering supports in a culturally sensitive manner and a willingness to work and train in culturally appropriate approaches
- Sound IT skills and experience using Word, Excel and client management systems
- Drivers Licence, own car and a willingness to travel.
