Due to ongoing growth Kirinari has the opportunity for a new orexperienced Behaviour Support Practitioner to joinour team based in Hobart TASMANIA. We are seekingnew and experienced practitioners.
The Kirinari Clinical Team receives referralsfrom across the sector from a range of individuals living indifferent circumstances with different goals. As a BehaviourSupport Practitioner (BSP) you will be responsible for providingspecialist Behaviour Support services to National DisabilityInsurance Scheme (NDIS) participants and their support teams.
As a BSP within Kirinari, you will be responsible for thepromotion of positive Behaviour Support within the organisation andthe enhancement of the quality of life of its customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance and a commitment to the policies andprocedures and delegations of Kirinari, together with the relevantnational and state legislation and policy, including the NDISQuality and Safeguards Commission
- Have a thorough understanding of, and promote the reduction ofRestrictive Practices across Kirinari and its customers
- Develop positive relationships and work with relevantstakeholders that include individuals, families, specialist supportservices and relevant government organisations in the delivery ofpositive Behaviour Support
- Develop, implement and review positive Behaviour Support Plansthat address behaviours of concern and enhance the quality of lifefor participants
- Utilise a range of data tools, to complete behavioural analysisand functional assessments
- Continued participation in opportunities for professionaldevelopment to ensure high quality service delivery and consistencywith current trends
- Balance priorities and maintain an active clinical caseload inconsultation with the Clinical Services Manager
- Accurate record keeping and reporting
About You:
- A relevant degree and/or demonstrated experience in support ofindividuals with disability and complex needs and behaviours ofconcern would be highly regarded, but not mandatory
- Current registration to practice as a core, proficient oradvanced Behaviour Support Practitioner in accordance with the NDISCapability Framework would be highly regarded yet notmandatory.
- A thorough understanding of relevant policy and legislationrelating to Behaviour Support and Restrictive Practice's atnational and state level, including the NDIS Quality and SafeguardsCommission
- Must have a desire to learn and work as part of atransdisciplinary team.
- Have experience of, or a thorough understanding of the conceptsand principles of Positive Behaviour Support, including functionalbehaviour assessment, development of positive Behaviour Supportplans, and their implementation and review
- High quality written and verbal skills, including excellentcomputer skills, interpersonal skills, and time managementability
- Qualifications ideal however not required. Applicants should beopen to pursuit of further knowledge be it through studies or otherprofessional development routes.
- Ability to work both autonomously and as a member of theBehaviour Support team
- Hold a current driver's license and a willingness to travelinterstate
- Ability to obtain a NDIS Workers Check before commencement
- Ability to obtain the relevant state Working With ChildrenCheck before commencement
