The purpose of the Responsible Banking Tribe is to fix things for our customers when we have got it wrong. An important part of the process to do this involves acquiring the data that will allow us to identify the impacted customers as well as calculate the amount of any applicable refund. It is crucial we get this right and effective testing is critical.
Test Analysts in the Responsible Banking Tribe are in reality a hybrid Test Lead, technical Tester & Data Analyst. Primarily a technical Tester within a customer remediation squad, you will define the test approach and build & execute test cases to validate that the data is fit for purpose, as well as test the programming code (usually written in Python, Spark or PL/SQL) of Data Analysts in the remediation squad.
The Test Analyst is critical to making this happen and will

• Contribute to the delivery of squad objectives via the completion of testing-related stories
• Source and wrangle data from a variety of sources (Teradata, Big Data platforms, enterprise data assets, core mainframe systems) to combine, analyse, reconcile and uncover any data integrity/validity issues
• Apply a variety of testing techniques to ensure completeness and accuracy of data stored on our Big Data assets
• Partner with the remediation Product Owner to ensure the squad's approach to testing is adequate and appropriate

What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in the role, you will ideally bring the following:

• Experience writing queries/code and code reviews in Python, Spark (or PL/SQL - optional)
• Detailed understanding of the end-to-end testing lifecycle
• Experience in defining the test approach/strategy
• Ability to source your own Test Data - leveraging Hadoop skills to effectively read large (100's of TB) data sets
• Experience in developing, documenting and executing test cases
• Experience in Data Remediation / Data Cleansing
