This long-life operation began in 1967 and has grown to become one of the longest coal mines in the Southern Hemisphere, with a strike length of approximately 70 kms. Blackwater extracts high quality metallurgical and thermal coal for the export market using 7 draglines with associated truck/shovel prestrip and Coal Mining. About the Role We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Production Supervisor to join us at our newly acquired Blackwater site. Our supervisors are accountable for the overall day to day performance, co-ordination, management and maintenance of the production work areas to assist in obtaining maximum safety, productivity, efficiency, quality, service and profitability for the organisation.Whitehaven supports the communities in which we operate and encourage our employees to live locally, and relocation assistance is provided. Successful applicants may also access camp accommodation if required.What You’ll Do Manage the safe and efficient operation of mobile machinery and other plant in an open cut environment to maximise production Monitor production and coal quality targets and ensure mining work is performed in accordance with mining plans so that coal targets are met.Maintain and drive the mining process, monitor efficiencies and ensure any deviations to the process are captured Ensure equipment is used and maintained appropriately and utilisation is aligned with budget including but not limited to first and last loads, allocated crib breaks, minimising blast delays and hot seating of equipment Lead continuous improvement activities to increase mining and plant efficiencyLiaise with CHPP operational staff to meet coal blending targets.What You’ll Bring RIIRIS301 / RIIWHS301 / RIICOM301 (formerly S1, S2, S3)RIIRIS402 (formerly G2)A commitment to safety Experience as a supervisor in the mining industry;Ability to adhere and live the Whitehaven Values and contribute to a collaborative organisational culture.
