Bms Project Engineer (Engineering Technologist)

First started in one of the most reputable Mechanical Electrical Contractor - FANELEC Group as mature apprentice. After 3 years of apprenticeship with FANELEC,Jun quickly became one of the trusted leading hands.

In 2018, FANELEC Group owner decided to retire from his successful business. Jun decided to carry on hisacquired skills and continue to offer the industry with competitive and quality workmanship electrical services.

Services we offer include Switchboard Installation, Tray and Cabling Installation, QA Documentation, Project Management, WH&S Compliance, Site Meetings, Commissioning and sign off of Installation, Warranty Services, Mechanical Electrical Design Services, Computerised Cable Sizing Solutions, Industry Regulations Referencing, CAD Design Services, Project Coordination and Custom Switchboard Manufacture.

Reporting To

This role reports to the Managing Director and Engineering Manager.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Developing project-specific documents including points lists, function descriptions, commissioning sheets, and other required documentation.
• Having extensive experience in control systems design, control and Automation, LV System Design (calculations, construction design, schematics), VSD systems, and Communication Systems.
• Troubleshooting, programming, and commissioning of Building Management Systems.
• Developing software code, interfaces, and graphics for projects
• Maintaining operational efficiency of all electrical machinery and rectify and faulty equipment.
• Analysing and interpretating electrical drawings to determine parameters for safe and efficient connection of power packages to customers’ electrical distribution systems.
• Reviewing and reporting on existing BMS installations with the focus of providing optimisation and feature improvements on mechanical plant.
• Conferring with customers, engineers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering products or projects.
• Ensuring that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements by preparing electrical systems specifications, technical drawings, or topographical maps.
• Establishing construction, manufacturing, or installation standards or specifications by performing a wide range of detailed calculations
• Estimating material, labour, or construction costs for budget preparation
• Maintaining constant communication and collaborate with internal & external customers to have a cohesive and conducive working environment.
• Liaising with client’s technical staff and visit potential job sites, as required, to verify project needs.
• Periodic reporting as required.
• Attending design meetings client meetings and other multidisciplinary engineers and project managers.
• Undertaking site construction inspections and installing quality control reviews with site managers.
• Complying with health, safety and environmental procedures and perform work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment.
• Providing leadership to junior engineers and apprentices as required.
• Creating designs for Building Management Control System (BMCS) switchboards and developing fabrication solutions for the switchboard manufacturing process.
• Understanding Mechanical Electrical Switchboard fabrication to complying to AS3000.
• Ensuring to comply with Safety Management Standard AS4801

Qualifications/Education

• A relevant Bachelor degree

Experience/ Knowledge

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
• Previous experience with Tridium/Niagara, Honeywell will be favorably looked upon
