Job description

Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) is a statutory body of the Queensland Government and the State’s lead tourism marketing, destination and experience development and major events agency.

TEQ’s vision is to inspire travellers to visit Queensland as their destination of choice through bold and globally recognised marketing and events that support growing overnight visitor expenditure (OVE) to $44.4 Billion by 2032. About the role
The Board Specialist provides effective support to Board meetings and to Board members as well as administrative support to the Group Executive Corporate and Strategy. 


Key duties 

  • Coordinate the development of Board papers and their distribution to Board and Committee members.
  • Manage the timeline for preparing the Board pack including following up others to avoid missing deadlines.
  • Coordinate financial requirements e.g. expense claims, purchase orders, invoices, credit card reconciliations.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with the Group Executive via strong communication and regular updates.
  • Take meeting minutes and manage these including communication of decisions and action items. 
  • Board member administration including, but not limited to, travel, maintenance of biographies and expense claims.

For this role, we will consider your: 

  • High level organisational and project management skills with the ability to work to a high standard under pressure and deliver on competing priorities. 
  • Administrative skills or executive assistant experience with high attention to detail.
  • Proven experience providing Board Secretariat support including minute taking.
  • Ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders, including board members and executive management. 
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills including tact and sensitivity.

Additional Information
