We currently seek an energetic and well organized candidate for the role of Boat Repairer, based in our Bibra Lake (Perth) office.

Successful candidates MUST have at least 2 years' experience in a similar role with Lifeboat & Rescue Boat repairs in this field and will have the relevant skills or proven competency.

The role involves:

  • Assessing of lifeboats, rescue boats and daughter craft by means of opening survey to ascertain work scope required for repair and refit. Using and interpreting procedures and plans for repair.
  • Fabrication, cutting and installing sections of the craft predominantly using fiberglass.
  • Repairing hulls, keels, canopies, transoms, gunwales, and other associated parts of the lifeboat or rescue boat.
  • Conducting pre-launch tests and supervising launching procedures as well as part-take and supervise sea trials.
  • Perform any modification to the Lifeboat or Rescue boat required, but in-line with OEM procedures and processes or dictated by the required regulation.
  • During repairs and refits, install deck fittings, engines, drives, shafts and safety equipment.
  • Fabricate parts and repair vessels during repairs and refits.
Successful candidates would ideally have:
  • Previous experience in a similar, marine based role or trade background.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of computer skills in Windows based programs.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals and regulatory standards.
  • Knowledge of relevant maritime regulations such as SOLAS, IMO, NSCV.
  • Manual drivers' licence.
  • Hold or be eligible to apply for a MSIC.
  • Be self-motivated with high attention to detail.
  • Work well as part of a small team and be flexible to assist in other areas of the business.
The successful applicant will be offered a remuneration between $70,000 - $90,000.
