Job Description:
Platinum Tank Services is seeking a skilled and experienced Boilermaker to join our team. As a Boilermaker, you will be responsible for various tasks related to the repair, fabrication, and maintenance of industrial tanks, vessels, and equipment. This role requires a good knowledge of drawings, excellent teamwork skills, a willingness to work in remote island locations, and a versatility to perform additional responsibilities as assigned. The successful candidate must possess an HR license, adhere to a safe work ethic, and demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as within a group.
Roster: 4:2 with site food allowance
Key Responsibilities:
1. Study and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to plan fabrication and maintenance tasks.
2. Perform welding, cutting, grinding, and other metalworking processes to repair and fabricate tank components.
3. Conduct routine inspections and assessments of tanks and equipment for damage or deterioration, and implement necessary repairs.
4.Familiar with entering confined space and breathing apparatus to Clean tanks thoroughly, removing residue, sludge, or any other contaminants, and prepare surfaces for repairs or maintenance. ( must be able to write confined space entry, rescue plans and other necessary permit to work.
5. Work as part of a team to ensure the completion of projects within scheduled timeframes and meet quality standards.
6. Travel to remote islands, be adaptable to varying environments, and work efficiently in isolated settings.
7. Demonstrate proficiency in a range of tasks, including general tank cleaning, painting, and equipment maintenance, fuel bunkering, receival of fuel, fuel terminal maintenance, pipeline knowledge.
8. Maintain a high level of safety by following all company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
9. Exhibit a strong work ethic and compliance with safe work practices to minimize risks and ensure the safety of self and others.
10. Take ownership of responsibilities and work independently when required, while maintaining effective communication within the team.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Boilermaker or similar role in the industrial tank or vessel industry.
2. Sound knowledge of technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
3. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with peers and superiors.
4. Willingness and ability to work in remote island locations, sometimes for extended periods.
5. Ability to multitask and be flexible, and open to performing additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
6. Possession of a valid HR license (Heavy Rigid) to operate necessary vehicles and equipment.
7. Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and complying with all safety regulations and policies.
8. Strong work ethic, reliable, and punctual.
9. Ability to work well both independently and within a team, demonstrating adaptability and cooperation.
10. Familiarity with breakdown repair procedures for tanks and vessels is a plus.
11. Professional certifications or licenses in welding, fabrication, or other relevant trades are preferred. (Pipeline fabrication/welding, Pipe fitting, Hydro testing /pipeline pigging experience)
12. Confined Space and Working at Heights within 2 years
