With a history of over 160 years in the Australian and New Zealand sugar industries, Wilmar Sugar Australia operations span the value chain from sugar cane growing, sugar manufacturing, refining, exporting, and marketing, to the production of renewable electricity, ethanol and sustainable agricultural products.
Wilmar manufactures over half of Australia's raw sugar, and each year exports enough electricity to power more than 68,000 Australian homes for 12 months. As well as supplying ethanol (ethyl alcohol) to the growing fuel market in Australia, Wilmar also supplies a significant market share to various industries including the pharmaceutical, printing, cleaning, winery, aerosol, animal health and food and beverage industries.
About the Role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for someone who loves working in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same. If that sounds like you and you thrive on a challenge, then why not join our team as a Boilermaker at Proserpine Mill working in our Cane, Supply & Transport department.
Primary responsibilities:
- Carrying out repairs of bridge steel supports.
- Undertaking repairs and modifications to railway turnouts and their components including mig and stick welding of rail joints.
- Active involvement and coaching of assistance, ensuring safe working procedures are achieved.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- A Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication
- A proven high quality of joint welding
- Good organisational, planning and decision making skills
- Be safety focussed with a focus on housekeeping
The following qualifications are required in some of our trade roles, however, we are prepared to provide training to people who possess the right aptitude and team fit:
- Forklift
- Basic Riggers
- Dogger
- Elevated Work Platform
