Our client, a large–scale cattle station located in Elliott, NT is seeking an experienced Bore Runner and Station cook. This position is ideal for a couple looking to be employed individually on the property.
- Bore Runner: The successful applicant will have previous experience in a similar role and sound mechanical knowledge of motors and pumps. An average day consists of driving around the property to check and service bores, maintain equipment, stock waters, fences around water points, new ring tanks, water structure development, and reporting any stock issues observed to management. Good communication skills and the ability to work with limited supervision are essential, along with a current driver's licence.
- Station Cook: To be successful in this position, you will ideally have previous experience cooking, with station cooking experience being highly desirable. Responsibilities include preparing hearty meals for breakfast and dinner, as well as lunch and smoko preparation for up to 8 station staff. The stock crew goes out to the stock camp regularly therefore, preparing food for the stock camp to take with them is also required. Depending on the successful applicant, there is an opportunity to join the stock crew when they go out to the stock camp and cook in the excellent new camp facilities. There may also be opportunities to join in with cattle yard work if interested.
This position is located close to Elliott NT, which is halfway between Darwin and Alice Springs. A long-term commitment to the employer is welcomed.
