About the Centre/ServiceChelsea Occasional Child Care Centre is a small not-for-profit organisation. A parent committee governs the centre’s operations, in collaboration with the Centre Director. We are licensed to provide education and care for 27 children per day & are currently undertaking transformational change to meet the needs of our community here in Chelsea. Chelsea OC has been operating in the community for over 30 years and continues to offer care & education to children aged 6 months to 6 years of age, in a multi-age learning environment with a large natural outdoor environment. We focus on nurturing responsive relationships with children & providing stimulating play spaces & intentional teaching, for children to thrive & to develop a love of lifelong learning.
Work Days of the RoleMonday - Friday **
Hours of Work of the Role10am - 12pm

- Are you looking for a role that's only 2hrs each day? **option for 3-5 shifts per week
- Covering Breaks for the team
- Supporting the program by contributing to a range of planning and documentation practices within the program.
- Supervising spontaneous and/or planned experiences when working with small groups of children in our indoor and outdoor learning environments.
- Engaging in reflective practice when creating routines and engaging learning spaces in collaboration with the teacher for the children and families
- Actively contribute to establishing a collaborative culture where teamwork and respect for each other is paramount.
- Engaging in intentional teaching with the children, to scaffold & extend on their learning and development.
- You will be creative, flexible, enthusiastic and have the ability to use your initiative within a small team.
- You will hold an ACECQA approved Diploma level Qualification in Children’s Services, or be working towards it.
- You will have an understanding of both the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS)
- You will have a strong commitment to child safety and the child safe standards
- You enjoy working within a small team
- You can be a new graduate, or come with a wealth of experience
- Early Childhood Qualification (Diploma level - working towards, or above)
- Current & Valid Working With Children Check
- Police Check / Criminal History Check (no more than 6 months old)
- First Aid / Asthma / Anaphylaxis Certificates
- Mandatory Reporting Certificate
