We are looking for a motivated Broadacre/Horticulture Sales Agronomist with a solid understanding of Broadacre and Horticultural crops .  This role will encompass a strong focus on plant nutrition, identifying pest, diseases and weeds in crops and recommending solution.   Hands on specific training will be provided but you will need a solid foundation on which to build.

Reporting to the Branch Manager you will be servicing both existing and prospective customers.

Key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Developing strong relationships with new and existing clients to grow the business
  • Working closely and collaboratively with other members of the team locally and The Muir Group team nationally.
  • Provide on farm agronomic and technical support
  • Pest and disease scouting on farms/ Develop pest and weed control programs
  • Collect and analyse leaf and soil samples
  • Provide high quality advice to the client base to support their business objectives.
  • Provide a high level of record keeping, reports and data accuracy
  • Be part of an energetic team of people that are highly focused on the success of their customers. 
  • Sales of required inputs to the customer base.

Skills & Experience

  • A tertiary qualification in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field
  • A passion for Horticulture with an entrepreneurial mind set.
  • An understanding of sustainable agricultural practices
  • Good presentation, communication and relationship building skills 
  • Excellent customer service skills with an ability and willingness to build relationships with key stakeholders essential to your success in this role.
  • Relevant computer skills across the Microsoft office suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • A current drivers' licence is essential
