Building Compliance Inspector (Casual)

Do you have attention to detail?  If you have a common sense understanding of buildings, a keen eye for maintenance and potential safety issues and can-do basic maths this role is for you. We provide the training to get started to make money quickly. 

The successful candidate will receive training in our processes, systems, building reports and the company will provide all the equipment to do the work. The role will also have the opportunity to multi skill over time into other products offered by Solutions in Engineering.

The role is critical to the generation of a core group of Building Compliance Report products for small through to large residential strata properties. The role will be employed on a casual basis and will join a team with a great culture and consists of specialists who are drawn from different professions within the Building Industry. 

This role has the potential to expand to a full time role as the business grows if that fits with your goals.

ABOUT YOU

It would be an advantage to have experience in the area of Construction, Building Maintenance and/or Workplace Health & Safety

To perform this role, the successful candidate will ideally reside in or near Perth WA and will occasionally be required to travel throughout regional WA. The successful candidate will have a current driver's license and ideally their own vehicle which is in good working order and fully registered and insured, and which they are prepared to use in order to perform the role. A vehicle allowance will be paid to reimburse the use of this vehicle and for work related parking and road tolls.  

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• An understanding of buildings and building maintenance.
• Ability to read a basic building plan and accurately measure building areas. 
• Any experience in identifying hazards on buildings (or sites) and structures would be an advantage.
• Takes pride in their attention to detail and accuracy.
• Planning skills to manage their own workload in order to meet deadlines whilst producing quality reports.
• Experience and proficiency in the use of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and the Internet. This means the ability to use these applications in their daily work. 
• Professional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are, desirable but not essential.
• Any construction or building inspection experience an advantage.
