Job description

The Organisation
Our client provides both transitional and long term social housing under a range of programs in partnership with the Queensland Government, with tenant rents based on a percentage of their income to enable affordability.
The Role
Reporting to the Senior Manager Assets, you will be responsible for providing efficient and effective condition inspections and reports of a selection of assets to support the delivery of the lifecycle plan and to ensure tenants and staff are afforded safe and appropriate facilities
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Conducting inspections to determine structural integrity, property and component condition against set reporting criteria and input data in the appropriate information data base, including estimated rectification costs.
  • Report any identified maintenance repairs to the asset team for action including detailed descriptions and photos in accordance with reporting timelines based on categorisation of repair e.g., urgent.
  • Provide detailed analysis of asset component and condition data to support current and future decision making to:
  • Ensure properties maintain ongoing compliance
  • Forecast component and property features lifecycle
  • Anticipate future workload and procurement requirements
  • Inform future budget requirements.
Skills Required
  • Qualification (relevant tertiary or trade) or substantial experience and knowledge in the residential construction industry or relevant knowledge and experience in the building/facilities management sector.
  • The ability to assess and determine the condition and lifecycle of all aspects of housing construction from building, painting, plumbing, mechanical electrical, etc
  • Prior experience conducting building fabric assessments and condition reports.
  • Accomplished written and spoken communication, relationship, and collaboration skills.
