An interesting and exciting opportunity has arisen within a privately owned Organisation with large and specialised facilities in a flagship precinct within Canberra. This organisation prides itself on its culture and unique working environment. The Building Maintenance Caretaker vacancy will ensure the maintenance & presentation of the buildings and surroundings are kept to a high standard whilst adhering to the company safety requirements.
Your new role
In your new role you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring that the buildings and the precinct are clean and rubbish and waste free, including removing waste when required.
- Guaranteeing all sites are always presented at their best. This will include the use of cleaning equipment when required.
- Undertake as directed general repairs and maintenance associated with the precinct, buildings, equipment, and other assets.
- Coordinate site access and undertake site escorts, provide other support required for works.
- As directed undertake lawn and grounds maintenance including but not limited to mowing, weeding and use of brush cutter.
- Provide general assistance with airside operations to help and support airside works and general activities when required.
- Assist in maintaining security of the precinct, including the buildings and precinct and other assets.
- Reporting of faults or failures (including WHS issues) in the operation or management of any aspect of the precinct.
- Other ad hoc duties as reasonably directed by your manager or the management team that may include working at alternate sites and precincts within the business
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position, you will need to have the following.
- Current Driver's License (C class)
- Chemical Certificate (highly desirable, not essential)
- White Card, Asbestos Awareness and Crystalline Silica Exposure Prevention.
- Truck License (desirable, not essential)
- Team player with professional attitude
