Your New Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a professional candidate with significant experience in project management, building maintenance and/or Facilities Management to join our Facilities Team as our new Building Renewals Officer. In this role, you will make a difference daily by delivering Council 's annual Building Renewal program to ensure that Council's buildings reach their life expectancy, are fit for purpose and compliant with all relevant regulatory codes. You will provide leadership, guidance and significant technical expertise to your colleagues in the Facilities team and other stakeholders across Council to assist in the pursuit of strategic, technical and service excellence. You will both lead and assist with the tendering and administering of building maintenance and minor works contracts, work within established organisational policies and guidelines and have personal values and behaviours aligned to those of Knox City Council.
This is a full-time permanent role based at Knox City Council Civic Centre however we can offer a range of flexible work options for the right candidate.
This is a Band 7 classified role; remuneration will be $104,630.20 - $117,345.47 (depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.
What you will need to thrive
The key selection criteria for this role are:
A thorough working knowledge of all physical building services and current maintenance practices.
Previous experience with the management of Capital works programs for building related assets including development, implementation, budget monitoring and reporting of operational and Capital works minor projects and programs.
Experience with building related compliance including OHS (general), Asbestos management, Fall prevention systems management, Essential Safety Measures, DDA and NCC compliance.
Sound minor works project management experience.
Substantial experience in a relevant building, construction and/or programmed maintenance position.
The ability to analyze problems and make informed decisions on a day-to-day basis using reference to Australian standards, Code of practice, guidelines, technical knowledge and experience.
The ability to work with a minimum of supervision and direct teams of trades people and/or maintenance contractors.
Substantial experience with administering building maintenance and minor works contracts including preparation of specifications and tender documents for maintenance contracts, Facilities management services contracts and Capital works contracts.
A proven ability to work within established organisation policies and guidelines and to work in a team.
Written communication skills in preparation of reports, correspondence, works documentation.
Personal values and behaviours aligned to those of Knox City Council.
