This position will assist in the operation and maintenance of the Bulk Water system by provision of duties as directed by the Bulk Water Ganger. This will include repairs to Bulk Water pipelines and assets and carrying out facility maintenance tasks.
About you
Our ideal candidate will have:
Knowledge and experience in pipelaying and pipeline maintenance particularly in relation to large diameter water pipes, valves and fittings
Ability to read, write and carry out numerical calculations commensurate with the duties of the position
Knowledge of workplace health and safety obligations for water maintenance activities
Ability to use various powered hand tools and minor plant
Mechanical aptitude to operate equipment and perform operator level maintenance
Current “C” class driver’s licence, “MR” licence desirable
Confined Space Entry Certificate
Senior First Aid
30215 QLD - Course in General Safety Induction (Construction Industry)
Able to work in a team and able to perform minor unsupervised tasks
Ability to work long hours in arduous conditions
Must be available to go on-call when required to do so
Must be capable of performing lifting and other labourer tasks
