ABOUT THE ROLE:
With the recent local and world markets shift toward zero emission vehicles and benefitting from Volgren’s strong focus on the design and development of innovative new bus solutions, we are looking to increase our workforce at this exciting time with talented individuals contributing to the overall success of our company.
We are looking to fill a Coach Body/Panel/Electrical Fitter Repairer a General all round Technician role within our Eagle Farm facility. In this hands-on position, you will have a strong drive and motivation to succeed and be able to work in a safety conscious environment and the future of Electrical bus building.
- Design and fabricate solutions for aftermarket and brand specific accessories.
- Cutting and shaping panels of sheet metal, aluminium and reinforced plastic and attaching to frameworks.
- Ability to work outside trade skill set.
- Repair and assemble Bus Panel accident repairs.
- Installing internal trim in vehicles such as lining, floor coverings and armrests
- Ability to read electrical drawings for repair work.
- Auto electrical repairs and diagnosis (DESIRABLE).
- Studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements.
- Aligning parts to be joined using specialised equipment and measuring instruments.
- Joining metal sections using various welding techniques.
- Framing and fitting hardware based on different on specifications.
- Keep a clean and tidy workspace.
- Identify and defective items and handle according to established procedures.
- Follow all relevant safety guidelines and procedures.
- MR Licence desirable but not essential.
- Forklift Licence desirable but not essential.
- Pay rate is market competitive and depends on experience and qualifications. This will be a permanent full-time opportunity and paid as per our Enterprise Agreement.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:
- Previous exposure and experience in a vehicle Manufacturing/Service/Electrical/Panel/ Fitter environment will be highly regarded.
This position also requires the applicant to undertake a pre-employment medical which includes a drug and alcohol analysis, musculoskeletal evaluation and hearing test
