Bus Cleaner / Yard Person

Deanes Coaches Group is a family owned and operated company operating a variety of Privately Contracted School Buses in the ACT along with Charter and Tour work, ranging from local school transfers within the Canberra region, day charters, snow tours, educational tours and extended tours as well as worker transfers for the Snowy 2.0 project.  We currently have 20 buses and coaches in our fleet and depots in Fyshwick and Cooma.

We are looking for a committed, detail oriented Cleaner / Yard Person to join our close-knit team and ensure our fleet is presented immaculately to our clients.

This role is for immediate start at our Fyshwick (ACT) depot

About the role:

• Cleaning the exterior of buses, coaches, and company cars (we have a drive around bus wash machine to make things a little easier)
• Cleaning and detailing the interior of buses and coaches (this includes drivers areas, floors, windows, seats and toilets)
• Polishing of Alloy Wheels & bullbars
• Polishing of Paintwork
• Cleaning and detailing of other company cars, utes and trailers.
• Basic maintenance of the bus wash machine (ie maintaining water and detergent levels, charging battery, changing out water nozzles, cleaning detergent filters etc) and high pressure wash.
• Cleaning of Offices and Toilets
• Yard maintenance and cleaning
• Driving company cars if required and if appropriately licenced, manoeuvring buses around the depot.
• 5 day a week roster (including weekends). Days off will be on weekdays to be nominated depending on the workload of our fleet.
• Weekdays will be afternoon/evening shift. Weekend shifts can be either day or afternoon/evening.

About You:

• Be well presented
• Be reliable and punctual
• Self-motivated with a good work ethic
• A keen eye for detail
• Work well in a team environment
• Hold a current full Australian driver’s license (manual & automatic). Preference will be given to holders of MR licence or above or those willing to obtain their heavy vehicle licence.
• Have a positive attitude, taking pride in your work
• Be able to work autonomously
